Hands-On Equations is a strategic mathematical manipulative that allows students to visualize and manipulate mathematical expressions and values. This program lends itself to students of all abilities and helps to create a greater understanding on the value and exchange of numbers and values. Hands-On Equations helps to build a solid foundation of number sense and prepares students for the critical thinking required in third-grade math. If awarded this resource, I would incorporate it into my daily small group instruction to assist students with their deficit skills as well as whole class instruction to help introduce difficult concepts.
