In today's world, technology plays a huge role in education! The students in my classroom have access to one computer. They would greatly benefit from being able to use some of the academic programs my district has access to in a different way, though. My five year-olds (both with and without disabilities), are learning to use a computer mouse. Some of them with fine motor weaknesses have a hard time, though! The touch screen on an iPad would help them all to have access to educational programs! Using it would allow them to play math games, have stories read to them, and increase their love of academic concepts. My class is such a special group who never asks for anything and works hard to earn simple rewards. They pick up trash from the playground and are examples for every other child in the school. I would love to be able to show them that people who don't even know them can be as kind as they are!
