I will be working at a school in a neighborhood of San Francisco that serves a very high population of Chinese families. Because I will have a high proportion of ESL students, I especially want to have a rug that emphasizes numbers and letters, which all students will be focusing on throughout the year. This will be my students' first real experience with school, and I believe that providing them with this central space in our classroom where we can come together as a community and focus on learning, caring, and engaging with the world is incredibly important. Thus, this Lakeshore rug will work to provide this space for my students and will serve my classroom for years to come!
