I teach Elementary English as a Second Language in a city public school. All the students in my school grow up in poverty and all receive free breakfast and lunch at my school. I think of my school as a diamond in the rough because although my students come from a low economic background, they don't let that define them. My students are extremely smart and make out school shine both at the local and state level. Most of my students are Hispanic, but we have students from South Africa, Guinea and Sudan.
