We have created portraits in the past. However, students were not fortunate enough to use mirrors to get a clear detailed image of themselves. We also tried drawing one another, but what about a self portrait? Mirrors and special pencils can change all that is missing in a self portrait! If students were only able to see themselves, then they could capture themselves at that moment in a continuous line portrait drawing. They would also be able to see the angles and shadows on their own faces. The fine lines and expressions can be captured in their drawings. Students would not have to rely on an old photograph, but see their actual faces. Do not forget about the pencils! We also need fine drawing pencils to add shading to create depth and shadows. Students would be able to draw fine lines and add texture to their hair.
