My classroom is always a hum of activity and learning. One child may be working on their math times tables, another may be researching jellyfish, while yet another may be leading a small group in diagramming the grammatical parts of a sentence. Students are constantly engaged in their learning and are sometimes working on their own, sometimes working with peers and often receiving lessons from me based on their individual learning needs. The classroom is a mix of independence and peer support. We learn, grow and support each other as a community and share our passions and our interests with the group. We are part of a public school and follow the Montessori philosophy of education. Students come in each day ready and excited to learn and often come home wanting to continue their work! Parents share how enthusiastic their child is about learning and parents love to hear the joy and passion in their child's voice as they talk about school!
