My students live in an environment where the culture is not centered on education. Many people did not complete high school, let alone consider higher education. The students that walk through my door everyday are a part of this cyclical environment in which crime and poverty rule. My school is determined to put its students on a path to success by delivering quality instruction and understanding, but we face our challenges. Many of our classrooms don't contain the basic resources we need to teach effectively, such as easels. Hence, my current project.
