We will be producing a morning announcements show for our YouTube channel. This will be available to our students and staff and also to our community stakeholders. This production will also serve as an outlet for exhibiting the ways Shades Valley High School is a global campus, such as exchange student interviews, International Festival coverage, and much more. Our plan also entails production of promotional videos on various areas our school and community. Three major reasons for producing this program and these videos include the following: 1) To give our students experience in video production. This will also include many other skills, such as meeting deadlines, storytelling, and group dynamics. 2) To inform students and teachers about upcoming events and acknowledging achievements of our students and staff. 3) To keep our stakeholders informed in a timely manner of events happening at our school and to facilitate community understanding and appreciation of the achievements and accomplishments of our students and staff. Acquiring and maintaining the support of our stakeholders is of paramount importance to our school as they are the backbone of our community and the consumers we serve. Video-based communication will provide stakeholders with an outlet to keep up with the daily events at our school. Not only will the videos focus on upcoming events, but they will also serve as a showcase for student achievement. Further, these videos will provide insight into our students and staff through interviews and highlights/information about past events. So that we can give the students a real feel for working in a TV news organization, we will need several pieces of equipment that will be used to produce these segments. We already have, access to several key pieces of equipment, but for the true experience, our biggest expenditure will be a professional camera.
