I teach kindergarten and I'm involved in a STEM institute for teachers --learning and engaging in the Next Generation Science Standards. I want to get my students excited about science, math and engineering, and anytime kindergarten students can role play (be a scientist) while they are learning new concepts, it just enhances the learning. I have not met this coming school year students (25 so far are enrolled in my class), but they will be like all the other kids I have taught---SPONGES FOR LEARNING and I want them to embrace science! My school is a rural school with lots of low income families, but I know the 2016-2017 school year will bring me a new batch of children wanting to learn and needing the tools to make it happen.
