My thirty third graders are typical California kids. They wear shorts to school year round, play hard at recess, and practice their multiplication facts nearly every day. They are motivated to try new things at PE and inspired when learning about the Solar System, but they are definitely timid in trying the new California Common Core Math strategies. Their parents are petrified when unfamiliar content comes home. This is the year to make Common Core common practice for these California kids.
