Our school is located in a small, rural community. Our school's number one goal is to create fluent, engaged readers. Our staff works together to reach this goal. I teach kindergarten and first grades, the foundation of their reading years. My students' attention spans are short, so my lessons need to be quick, but precise. Using centers is a way to add variety to the lessons, and allows me to meet with smaller groups. By meeting with smaller groups, I am able to better understand my students' needs, and then, be able to individualize their learning.
