I am very excited to be a K-5 teacher and instructional technology coach in New Kent County. I teach students in two schools lessons that incorporate technology and science (my personal passion as well as my teaching credentials). New Kent is undergoing a student Chromebook initiative, phasing out the desktop computers, and encouraging STEM exploration. Our students are so excited about using all the new tools! For students in our mostly rural county this is a huge change. We are having fun making video's,learning how to code, and learning how to work in groups on projects. We were lucky to get the Finch loaner robots this year which our students had great fun with. I am also excited to start an after-school robotics program in the County. This is an exciting time for my students and their learning.
