Fly-Town Puppet Theatre, our high school theatre troupe, is filled with students who are innovators, engineers, artists, performers, musicians and craftsmen. A typical day involves learning movement, breath, body control, puppet manipulation, teamwork, creating original music, building different styles of puppets, sculpting heads, making masks, painting props, paper mache work and more. My students come from all walks of life. Our school accepts students from the entire county and we have a very high percentage of students from inner-city Flint, MI. Our school truly has a diverse population. Our city has been hit hard with challenge, but we are bouncing back. My students tend to be quite creative but lack the experience of having the arts offered at their previous schools. One thing that does set our school apart is our commitment and involvement in the community. We are committed to innovation and the arts here!
