Our school pre-screens students for deficits in verbal and cognitive skills to receive extra support in order to be ready for 5K the next school year. We have many students that come from other cultures and do not start the school year speaking English. The various back grounds create the need of cooperative play and learning social skills. They learn many necessary skills such as problem solving, sharing, and acceptance of others through play and hands-on activities. Many of these children have never been in a group setting or have never had to share space or toys with other children of the same age. These students prove every year they are capable of learning more and more no matter what challenges arise. They love to experience new things.

About my class
