My school is in East Harlem in New York City. Our school has 99 percent of the students receiving free lunch. Even with many obstacles in their lives, these students thrive when they are engaged with their learning. We lack many things like computers and smart boards that so many schools have, but we even lack a great set of literature to get our students excited about reading. It is challenging to get them engaged sometimes, but that is why I think having this wonderful read aloud book in their hands will make them even more a part of their learning.
