My students have finally returned to the classroom after being home on computers for a year and a half and they are eager to read. While independent reading is part of our curriculum, providing the latest titles for students is always a challenge. My students are motivated most by the newest, latest reads, especially graphic novels and manga books, but we just don't have many in our classroom library. Our classroom library needs an update and our students will be absolutely thrilled to get their hands on these books. We only have a few and the students are constantly trying to check them out. Even struggling readers will settle into reading these books for extended periods of time. I know how engaged they are by these books, we just need more. Please help me keep my sixth graders engaged in independent reading this year by funding our project. Thanks!
