In my fourth grade class, they are always talking about what they want to buy. I realized they do not understand the value of money and I want them to be better educated on financial literacy. Studies say a vast majority of minority students lack basic levels of financial literacy skills. So I also want flexible seating such as the bolster and wobble chairs to help them feel more comfortable with learning this material. I want to create a warm and inviting reading nook featuring a diverse array of books along with information about saving and when to spend their money. the stories Mine!: A Counting Book About Sharing, and It's Not Fair!: A Book About Having Enough will help them learn about the subject at their level.

About my class
