We are a second grade multi-cultural Title 1 school. Our poverty level is high at 89%. There are easier school district's to work or teach in but none that can make such a huge difference in a child's life. I travel 42 miles each way everyday (84 miles roundtrip) to teach at my school because I believe in my students, their progress, and their success. I believe we can make a difference in a child's life and get them to believe in themselves with positive, fun, hands-on learning activities, so everyone is successful at learning. My students are curious and very appreciative of all the hands-on activities we do in our class. Hands-on activities really help them learn and give them experiences that they would normally never have. Students who have difficulty in the learning arena for reasons of ESL barriers, auditory deficiencies, or behavioral interference can be found to be on task more often with activities.
