My students are English Learners - refugees from Salvador, as well as immigrants from South America. They are dedicated to learning and developing their English skills. However, my students are still adapting to American customs and culture, and being asked to learn in a foreign language more than they ever been before. Any time they are able to spend on using computers helps to improve their reading, listening, and speaking skills as well as writing and typing skills. Unfortunately, our school has few resources and we have only five computers available for our class. This is simply not enough. These Chromebooks will help my students to become better readers and writers. Many of the reading programs have listening activities, which the headphones will enable them to do. The curriculum that my school adapted required students to work online to finish many reading comprehension activities and tests. They will also be able to work on various projects for school; writing essays, research, and presentations. These Chromebooks would be used during my literacy, math centers, and small group. In addition, through the possibility of all students having continual access to the learning programs, I would have access to more data, and thorough analysis I would be able to better serve and meet the students' needs.
