My students are in a small, rural town. They are eager learners, sweet, and kind. Our school has an amazing sense of family and community. Our PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) and volunteers are a constant and welcome presence in our school. We are transitioning to a personalized learning school where our students will be able to take the driver's seat in their learning to help shape how they learn. I see each class at least once a month with 2 bonus "Counseling Units" per year where I spend an additional 4 weeks for each unit with each class delving into topics that are important from friendship, bullying, academic support, and career awareness, just to name a few. I am fortunate to have my own classroom where I can see these students, and I want to transform this space to reflect our work toward Personalized Learning.
