Are you fascinated looking at how the color of leaves change or how a tiny bird playfully jump from one branch of a tree to another? The 6th grade Science students I teach at a Title 1 school would really be interested to go outdoors and observe and identify trees and birds in their community. Most of these students came from different elementary schools in the city and most of them live in apartment buildings and have limited exposure to nature studies. We are a college-bound school and we encourage students to start planning their career choices as early as 6th grade.
