What an amazing special day class I have had the fortunate pleasure of teaching! Our class, which is a mixture of kindergarten through second grade, ranges from Specific Learning Disabilities, to Speech and Language Impairments, to Intellectual Deficits and beyond. Learning can come as a challenge and frustration for many of these little ones. The one thing that all my students love, however, is reading. Whether they are looking at the pictures and just learning letter recognition or are reading full books on their own, I would love to create a comfortable space for them to continue to learn and grow in their reading. These are amazing and resilient children, most of which don't have the resources available to them to really explore growth in reading outside of our classroom walls. To give them a comfortable library space to enjoy would be an absolute privilege and pleasure!
