Our school is Title I but that doesn't hold my students down. My students work hard despite some students coming from economically challenging environments. I teach 60 students in total and I have four classes of 60 students. I teach two subjects in my classroom so it is important for my room to be flexible with seating. In math, we start with a small lesson then move into groups or pairs to practice our learning. In social studies, we work in groups to discuss books we are reading or concepts in geography, history, government, or economics. In my classroom, you can see students standing, sitting, or laying in the floor learning and focused. We utilize technology to practice vocabulary, learn new content, or to assess how much the students have mastered. My students enjoy our classroom because its our school home. The students are excited to get more flexible seating options.
