I work with students from diverse cultural, racial and linguistic backgrounds. Many of them come from families headed by siblings or parents or other guardians who did not complete high school. Many of them do not speak English at home. Many of them live in neighborhoods plagued by gang violence and poverty. All of them are bright, amazing individuals learning how to belong to their communities as academically successful students.
