Children learn best when doing. In 5th grade we have the absolute best social studies curriculum, kids LOVE it! This camcorder, microphone and lights allow for children to read, write, direct and act in a historical event. Reading about such times as crossing the Delaware, then writing a script, acting, recording and showing what that must have been like. Don't just read about historical events, put yourself in their shoes by acting out what it might have been like is sure to be an event no student will soon forget, and that's what we aim for as teachers, meaningful learning that students remember. Along with social studies curriculum learning students will be chosen as actors, directors, tech specialists and script writers, allowing these activities to cross over into other domains. It allows children to explore the arts and technology while learning about our nations history. Help me give my children an interactive way of learning social studies while working on writing, technology, and performing arts skills.
