When you look at the demographics of my school, you will see that our Free and Reduced Lunch population is almost at 90%. That statistic describes my classroom, but it doesn't show who they are. They come in everyday with some home lives that can be unimaginable, but they feel at peace and safe in the classroom. They do not receive a lot of academic support at home, but they have learned how important school and learning is every day in school. I have set a high expectation for them to be focused and motivated to learn and when they rise to that occasion, they are clearly proud of their accomplishments.
