Fifty percent of my students will never own their own computer until they are out of school. Fifty percent of the students will only be able to use the school's computer labs to complete their school work. During these children's working lives most all of their work will be expected to be completed on a computer, and to apply for their jobs too. We can not stop the rate of new technology: it is continuously being improved, but our rate of teaching and using it is too slow and expensive. My low income community will grow up without the know-how, enlightenment and confidence to maneuver in this exciting technological world they will live and work in.
