I teach students that are experiencing their first year in high school. They are scared and excited, even sometimes angry, to be here. I teach students that range from homeless to upper middle class. The past 2 years, I have taught Honors and General World History. Along with history, I teach students how to prepare for high school and its importance. I even teach a lesson on dropout statistics to enlighten them to the reality of quitting school. Sadly, this is something many of my students are already planning to do. I try my best to inspire them and convince them that school is important, and so are they.
