I work in a Title One school in Atlanta, Georgia and teach about 85 students per day on average. Many of my students do not have access to any form of technology outside of the school other than their cell phones. Visiting the neighborhood library is also not always an option because the area is unsafe after dark and many families do not have transportation. This makes it quite difficult to assign class research and publishing assignments outside of school. Compound this issue with the fact that my classroom only has 5 Thin Client computers that all operate from one main hard drive, and when it goes down (which happens at least two days out of the week), my students are left without a means to complete technology based assignments.
