Our school is located in the poorest area of our city. Many of our students live in apartments, in RV parks, and shelters. We are 100% free and reduced lunch. The large majority of my students are English language learners who are far below their reading level. While reading is a struggle, this doesn't stop them. All of them are determined and hard at work this year to raise their reading level and become competent readers. In order to accomplish this, I have to get creative and the students need to get inspired. We work together everyday to achieve our goals and I am very proud of everything they do. They do not let difficult circumstances affect their dreams.
