I teach 6th grade mathematics. My students are eager to improve their grasp of mathematical skills. We will have many hands-on activities and lessons to enhance their knowledge of the mathematical world. Through active participation in the learning process, they will achieve a higher level of understanding. My students are vivacious learners that come to school each day full of energy! As sixth graders, they are VERY active and any opportunity we can get to get them moving or using their hands is fantastic! At our school, our students come from very diverse backgrounds. Many of our students come from low-income families that do not always have access to learning materials; these opportunities to get manipulatives and math tools into their hands is even more important! Hands-on, interactive learning is critical for my students; it is the way in which they best grasp critical math skills.
