The goal of my project is to invoke a sense of community within my classroom by purchasing t-shirts of our namesake college (Univ. of Nebraska). Students will wear the shirts during assemblies and other school celebrations to display our unity and commitment to one another. Additionally, these shirts will empower my students with a sense that they, too, can go to college and be successful. Furthermore, since my students all come from low income families, school supplies are always in short supply. I want them to not have to worry about not having the necessary equipment to be successful in the classroom for the second half of this school year. Ideally, I would be able to gift all of these supplies and shirts to my students before the holidays.
