My students are ten and eleven year olds in fifth grade. They are very creative plus tech savvy and hungry. Our school is a high achieving school who just does not get allocated funds for technology due to budget constraints. Since we are not a Title I school we miss out on a lot of funding that other schools receive. Our district is building several new buildings (ours being one of them since the building we are in now was built in 1953) that will be state of the art, but we do not have enough technology equipment to accommodate the growing needs of students and teachers who want to educate students to use this newest technology to further learning.
