My students are happy, excited, driven, curious and they all share a diagnosis on the autism spectrum.  They learn best with bright colored manipulative's that they can explore with their hands and their eyes.  They find comfort in predictable outcomes. I love teaching the predictability of patterns, sequencing and demonstrating for them math concepts visually. Our campus is like an oasis dedicated to special education; providing for their specialized needs all the while preparing them for a least restrictive environment in a General Education setting. We focus on utilizing on their abilities to bridge the gaps created by their disabilities.
