All of my students have been diagnosed with a qualifying disability such as Autism and Intellectual Disability, which severely impacts their learning and achievement. They are fun-loving, intelligent children who need economic, social, and nurturing support to achieve. My children already have two strikes against them in life when they come to me: They have learning disabilities and they come from low-socioeconomic households. I strive to give them not only the tools to learn, but the love and support they don't typically get when at home. We make great efforts and work together to overcome these disadvantages. In the end, my students become learners and are proud of every accomplishment; just as I am proud of them!
