My students thirst for hands-on learning. They enjoy working with their peers, participating in class projects, and being creative. Although many of my students are being raised by a single parent, they have the potential to be high achievers. Often times, they don't come to school with the tangible tools they need to learn. When these tools are provided, they thrive academically and socially. My school is located in a low-income area, and 100% of the students live within walking distance of the school. Many of them are responsible for getting themselves up and ready for school without the assistance of an adult. There are times when this causes them to be late for school, but they do the best they can to catch up with
