I teach Accelerated Kindergarten, which is part of my school's GATE Magnet program. My "little ones" as I call them, have to pass a screening in order to be accepted into the magnet program. They are students who typically have some knowledge of Kindergarten standards and show GATE potential. My school is in a low income area, and many of my students are English Learners who are just beginning to speak English. My students come to me with varied backgrounds and knowledge, but love to learn and work hard everyday.
