We are a class of high school students that are interested in science and engineering. My students are looking for projects that capture their interest and allow the flexibility to use their creativity. Robotics projects and the VEX Robotics competitions capture student interest and exploit their creativity. The projects and competitions are designed with rules and constraints that allow for fair competition while allowing for flexible, creative, and diverse solutions. Our school is a medium sized high school with a culture that supports the development of skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Teaching and learning is centered around the development of "college ready" and "career ready" skills for all students.
