My students use whiteboards, markers, and paper towels as erasers daily in both math and science. We conduct our science vocabulary challenges using the whiteboards as well as our number talks, working out word problems, quick responses, and work space for online math and science activities. Missing instruction while trying to get a pencil sharpened is affecting our productivity. We need a good working pencil sharpener so that when we get down to the business of learning math and science, we do not waste time that we desperately need to use to grasp the concepts in our math and science curriculum.
