Despite the fact that my students have a wide range of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, they are very supportive and protective of one another. What unifies them is their intellectual ability, kind hearts and thirst to learn about the world around them. They desire to be multilingual and multicultural. They have willingly taken on the challenges of the International Baccalaureate Program and as their French teacher, I aim to equip them with the much needed skill of speaking another language. My school is a magnet public school for liberal arts that uses the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. It is a worldwide IB school, which means that the students are eligible for college credit for IB and Advance Placement courses. Students can also pursue an IB Diploma. The curriculum is rigorous and challenging, and the students value the experience of pushing themselves to achieve at a high level. We place great value on foreign language and cultural appreciation.
