The books and activities will be used for both whole class instruction as well as small group instruction to meet the individual needs. Keeping students engaged and motivated is challenging, especially when many are below grade level. COVID has created a disconnect for some students in the learning process. Providing high interest texts and activities for students to engage in will help motivate them to be more interactive in the learning process and recognize their own abilities. Students will engage in learning by working cooperatively in small groups. Also, whole class instruction will be enhanced through whiteboard interactions and the use of authentic literature from various cultures as every student has the ability experience the wonder of reading.
