The books that I am requesting will be used to enhance my office library of books about BIPOC children. At this school, more than 80% of the students are Black, Asian and Hispanic, and more than 66% come from low-income households. Students will be able to check out the books and read them independently, or read them with me. Being able to read books that reflect students' diverse ethnic background will help build our school community and enhance students' self-esteem, as well as promote my students ability to be their authentic selves.
