We are a school with a diverse population and dynamic, the school zone covers every ethnic background and financial category. Some of my students are rich, some poor, and even orphans. They represent America. A majority of my students have trouble engaging in literature and have even more trouble picking a book and sticking with it till the end. They sometimes lack motivation, reading stamina, and get frustrated easily when they are forced to read a novel on their own without a road map. Many of them need manipulatives to engage in curriculum and enjoy different formats to learn in. My students have amazing stories of their own and very spirited. They need assistance understanding how to analyze texts and respond to questions about the texts. Some people have given up on my students, but I know they have what it takes to accomplish their goals, I just need the right book and tool to help them reach it.
