When students see themselves as characters in print and authors of books, they know that they matter. They develop a sense of pride that pushes them to achieve their innermost heart's desires. Your support in funding this project will ensure that all children are represented in our read-aloud. These books already have a home in my classroom. The soft seats will provide a comfortable and cozy place for each child to get lost in reading. The draw and write journals will allow the students to express how they feel and reflect on what they have just read. This project will spotlight and introduce students to a variety of authors who celebrate the diverse backgrounds we have represented in our classroom and around the world.
