My school is set up to support students that need the most restrictive environment. Many students with Autism have a difficult time communicating. The students at our school are here because of their behaviors, including either injury to themselves or to others. That being said, many students come to this school and find the love, support and structure they need to be successful. My students are in a self-contained classroom in a special school due to behavioral challenges. My students are incredible and, in a safe environment, they are opening up. It is exciting to see. They are either non-verbal or low verbal communicators. My students have a primary diagnosis of Autism and have other secondary developmental challenges. I am grateful to be working with my students, and they help me grow as much as I hope I help them. Addressing their needs is my primary goal, and this request is part of that. My students need an iPad.
