My classroom/school is a great representation of America. We are culturally diverse and are learners of all types and all levels. My classroom of 21 students is made up of 11 boys and 10 girls. They are funny, sweet and energetic 7- and 8-year-old kids who get excited about new learning. They enjoy listening to stories and sharing about themselves. They are not only learning academics but also learning about peer mentoring, working in cooperative groups and how to foster healthy relationships with peers. It is amazing how much new learning they have absorbed this year. They love the outdoors and are dedicated to making a difference in the world by recycling and learning different ways to help the environment. They love choosing their own books and enjoy sharing their new learning with each other and with me.
