Our goal is to provide diverse, high-quality books to the students in our community. These are books that speak to the reader's culture and experience. While reading can seem like a solitary endeavor, it is through sharing, discussing, and social interaction that the enjoyment of reading expands. Creating book clubs with the selected titles will allow for the sharing that elevates the reading experience. Learning from the books and each other will contribute to a better understanding of our diverse community. The books selected have been chosen based on professional reviews, personal reading of the material, and suggestions from Project Lit. Some requested titles include: One Crazy Summer, Dear Martin, As Brave As You, Ghost Boys, and The Education of Margot Sanchez. We see this as the beginning of a battle to increase literacy and learning in our community. After all, we are the Project Lit Warriors!
