We are a Title I school, which means, we have a large number of students on free and reduced lunch. Most of our students read below their grade level and their math scores are also below grade level. My curriculum challenges students in ways they don't see in their regular classrooms. My classroom requires my students to think creatively and to take chances. My classroom allows students to achieve in non-traditional classroom ways. My students are excited to learn, especially when that learning involves cutting edge technology. Having a 3D printer to go hand in hand with my curriculum would take their learning to a new level. I can't even imagine the excitement they would have by holding their creations in their hands. How that could provide that learning spark and excitement for them.
