Our K-2 elementary school is in a rural farming community. We have a population of 303 students. Of these students, 42.72% qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. I teach 2nd grade and have 21 students. My young students are eager to learn, energetic, and caring. I try to provide them with a large variety of academic experiences to keep them motivated and excited about learning. 1/3 of my students do not have access to a computer in their home and one goal I have is to provide them with a variety of technology experiences. I want my students to be kind, productive members of our community. We have daily discussions about our actions and our life long goal of making the world a better place. I want to provide my students with skills that are not only meaningful to them in the classroom, but that are also meaningful in their personal lives outside of school.
