My students are excited each day to come to school and to be with their peers. They smile and greet each other each morning that they arrive. We promote a very family friendly environment in our classroom. Part of coming to Kindergarten is learning to be with one another appropriately and how to help each other learn. I incorporate as much hands on learning in our room as possible. But, there are times where we must simply sit and listen. We currently have 5 wiggle seats in our classroom. We rotate through our list of students each day so that a new 5 will get to use the wiggle seats. I have noticed how much more focus the students sitting on those seats have. It not only benefits those who need that extra sensory input, but I have noticed that it benefits the focus of those who usually seem to be more focused anyway.
